February AND March 2017 'Pick of the Month'

For the latest Pick of the Month I decided to merge both February and March together. I did this because while February saw the release of some really good singles, there were no albums released that really interested me that much. However I knew that some really good albums were set to be released in March, so I thought that it would be a good idea to do a big post instead!

February SONG: Ciao Adios - Anne-Marie
I played this song non-stop throughout February for a number of reasons, the first being because of how catchy it is! I say that about a lot of songs, but I honestly believe that if a song isn't catchy or has anything to make it memorable to the listener, it won't be great. The second reason for loving this song was the fact that it seems quite unique in the charts at the minute. Anne-Marie's voice on it's own is beautifully unique, and combined with the style of the song and the lyrics, it really stands out. You always get songs about breakups or songs directed at ex-boyfriends/girlfriends, but the sass that Anne-Marie has in this song really makes her stand out for all of the right reasons. The lyrics are as though she is telling the listener a story, rather than just a bunch of random lyrics put together, and I think that is something that really makes this song so memorable.

March SONG: Stay - Zedd & Alessia Cara
When I first heard this song I didn't like nor did I dislike it, it was just a bit 'nothing' to me. But I believe that this is one of those songs where the more you listen to it, the more it grows on you, and that is definitely what happened with me! For some reason this song just makes me feel good, which is why I've spent most of March listening to it! This collaboration has worked really, and both artists have managed to create a really really great song!

MARCH ALBUMS:
  • Divide - Ed Sheeran
I've already written a post about how much of a great comeback Ed had with his third album Divide, but I am honestly so impressed with it. I began to wonder if Ed would be able to produce music that wasn't sounding the same all the time while also being just as good as his old stuff, and Divide showed that that was possible. The range of songs on this album is incredible, from Eraser to Perfect, and to the very popular Galway Girl. All of the songs on this album are different and really engage the listener, so I believe that it really deserves the huge success that it got.

  • So Good - Zara Larsson
Again, I have also already written a review of this album (links will be posted below to both the Ed Sheeran and Zara Larsson posts), but I've been playing it non-stop since it was released, and every time I listen to it I seem to get a new favourite song. Just like Ed, there is a huge variety of songs on this album, and the fact that Larsson is still so young makes the album even more impressive.
