February 2016 - Pick of the Month

Each month I will post about what my favourite song, album and video of the month has been. Although this didn't start in January (annoyingly), this will be an interesting set of posts to look back on at the end of the year!

SONG: 7 Years - Lukas Graham
This has been one of my favourite songs of the year so far. I think that the lyrics are beautiful and incredibly meaningful. I also really like the fact that the song is still fairly upbeat, as it makes it much easier to sing along to!

ALBUM: The BRITs 2016
I don't usually buy compilation albums like this (maybe the occasional NOW! Thats What I Call Music!), but this album has the perfect mix of songs. With three discs, the songs cover all genres of music. From The Weeknd to Mumford & Sons, this album has it all. This album has also encouraged me to listen to genres of music I wouldn't typically listen to, while having some of my favourite songs at the minute on there as well!

MUSIC VIDEO: PILLOWTALK - Zayn
I'm not a big fan of One Direction, however when I heard that Zayn was releasing his debut solo single I thought that I should give it a chance. The first time I heard the song was when I watched the video, and it was better than I thought it would be. I was expecting a cringey video, but instead it was quite artistic and minimal. I sometimes find that less is more, and thats definitely the case for PILLOWTALK. I highly advise anyone who is quite apprehensive about Zayn to watch this, as you may find yourself pleasantly surprised like I was.

I think February has been a good month for music, and with even more songs and albums being released, bring on March!

anks for sharing the article, and more importantly, your personal experience mindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it’s better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools. Appreciate you reading and sharing your story since I can certainly relate and I think others can to
